34 weeks!

We got the silver medal of twin pregnancy!  And the babies are about 5lbs already!  If they were born today, they wouldn't have to spend too much time in the NICU. It would be mainly to gain weight and learn how to feed. Regardless, we'd prefer them to stay in for a while longer :)

Celebrating Chanukah!

We packed up the pack including my mom and headed out to Scott's Parent's house to celebrate Chanukah. Sonya and Peter live in Woodmere, NY and are still in the same house that Scott grew up in. I love the feeling of familiarity that radiates through the walls. Scott's sister Marla and her husband Brian and their kids, Jake, Aidan (identical twins!) and Ethan also joined us.

(Ethan was super annoyed with me in this photo because I separated him and Scott. It's written all over his face!  But I had the camera on a timer and need an easy spot to scoot into!)

We're really lucky. We love each other parents and our parents love each other! It makes life so much easier since we all get along.

The boys are also getting really excited that the babies will be here so soon. It also helps that they can feel the babies moving in my belly. I loved interacting with them all!

Family Day!

My sister and her husband Alex had an 8-hour layover in New York on their way to Dublin for New Years. We took advantage of their time and headed to see some of the holiday landmarks around the city.

My mom was also able to join us. It was so nice to have all the girls together that day.

Next year the holidays will be even more fun!

Sirius reporting for Babysitting Duty

We've started to get the nursery ready for the babies. And Sirius and Archie have been really interested in helping. I'm so excited to see how they'll welcome the babies into the pack

33 weeks!

Holy Baby Bump Batman!  This thing is getting bigger and bigger. Making sleeping harder and harder. I'm getting about 4-6 hours of sleep a night and still waking up once or twice to pee. I'm really looking forward to NOT being pregnant anymore just so I can lay on my stomach and not struggle to sit up or turn side!

31 Weeks!

How fast time flies!!! We celebrated 31 weeks today by going to see our favorite OB, Dr Silverstein. I often describe him as the spawn of Albert Einstein and Rick Moranes- that brilliant and that funny. We really enjoy seeing him and hearing his fun and amazing take on pregnancy.

So!  The babies are doing great!  Baby Boy is still head down and likely to stay that way and Baby Girl is breech again with her tushy in her brother's face.  They both have a great amount of fluid and we were able to see them practice breathing.

Dr. Silverstein told us to expect the babies to come between the 2nd and 4th week of January. That sounded good and far until I realized that's 5 weeks away!!! OH-EM-GEEEEE!  We could have a couple of babies in just over a month!  That feels like tomorrow. My baby shower was over a month ago and that feels like it was just yesterday. Time to kick it into high gear and prep this apartment for some babies. Wish us luck guys!

My Lovely Babies' Bump

We finally got around to take some professional photographs during the pregnancy. We packed up the pack and headed out to Central Park on a thankfully unseasonable warm December day.

I think they came out really good :)

We're all getting promotions in 2015!!!

30 weeks!

We are getting so close to meeting the babies!  It's weird, I feel like I had a better handle on the idea during the 1st trimester than I do now!

We've started to plan the nursery out in the apartment. And for two tiny humans, they have a ton of stuff and need a lot of room!

Anyway, going to take the weekly bump shots in front of the tree for the next few weeks in over to add a little holiday cheer.

Ps- have you started your holiday shopping yet?!

Thanksgiving

Scott and I traveled down to Greenville, North Carolina for Thanksgiving.  My brother, Andres and his wife Brandy and their 2 kids AJ and Matthew moved there about 5 years ago.  My father, sister, Ana, her new husband, Alex and her 2 kids Sonny and Apple also joined.  It was really nice to be able to spend time with them since we don't get to see each other often.

We celebrated pre-thanksgiving meal at a Mexican Restaurant
My brother took Scott and Alex hunting.  Sadly there were bears in the area that scared the deer away

29 Weeks!

We went for another growth scan today and got great news!  Both babies are in the 46% which is amazing for twins.  Baby Boy weighs 2 lbs 15 oz and Baby Girl is 3 lbs even.  I have definitely felt them growing bigger and stronger these past few weeks.  The kicks are getting strong enough that you can see my belly jump and bounce!

28 weeks!

We welcomed the 3rd trimester with Opened Arms!  I can't believe we're so close to the end.  I literally feel like I'm climbing Mt. Everest and have just approached the final leg!

Ridgeback Pack

What a beautiful fall day in Central Park!

Scott and Archie perched up on a rock.  Of course, Archie got ridiculously close to the edge and almost tumbled off.  I almost died...

Archie always manages to make new friends.  This is his buddy, Leo.  They had a great time!

"I had a great time, Leo!!!  See you in a few weeks!"

Babies' Shower!

Pimpernel Hydrageas and Pink Quartz for a bit of Love in the Fall

We had our Baby Shower on Nov. 1st and it was such a beautiful time.  We chose to do a Saturday Brunch at The Smith in the East Village for all our friends and family.  We had everyone from family and friends from Florida to Long Island to coworkers from my hospitals and Scott's offices attend.  There was so much love in that room.  Our babies are so lucky!!!
The super tasty Strawberry Shortcake!

Cat (in the Crown) and Angela (also with Pink Glitter Lips) are also expecting!

25 weeks!

We had another growth scan this week and the babies almost weigh 2lbs each!  They are only a couple ounces apart which is fantastic news!  Sometimes twins grow at very different rates which makes doctors worry that one twin isn't getting enough nutrients.  Thankfully, we're steering clear of that.  Good Job guys!!

In new developments, Baby Girl has turned herself and is now breech!  Thankfully, Baby Boy is still head down.  As long as he stays that way, my doctors will plan for me to have a vaginal delivery (which I'd really prefer).  They said that they actually prefer Twin B to be breech as they can do a breech extraction which is faster and safer since the cervix doesn't have time to close back up between babies.  Baby Girl really knows what she's doing!

Babymoonin' in Jamaica, Mon!

We decided that we should take one last vacation before the babies join us.  These trips have been dubbed "Babymoons" by Marketing Geniuses.  They similar to honeymoons in that a couple plans on spending some alone time, enjoying each other's company.

We chose Jamaica as our destination and with my doctor's blessing, hoped on a flight (mask on!) and made our way our tropical island getaway.

With Ebola making it's way around the world, I wasn't about to take any chances!

Our first night at our hotel, The Spa Resort, was magical.
It was perched right on the edge of these beautiful cliffs in Negril.

It was really nice to be able to reconnect with each other, away from all our responsibilities.

The next day, we headed off to check out the amazing beaches.
The sand was so fine and soft and the water was so warm and clear!

I wasn't sure how I was going to feel in a bikini so I packed a one-piece I bought at Target while in Houston a few weeks back.  I surprised myself by not only rocking the 2 piece but also decorating my belly with some metallic temporary tattoos (thanks, April!)

We made some new friends while in Jamaica.  This is Roza.  Does she look familiar?  Well, she should!  She's part Ridgeback, part German Shepard.  Just like Sirius!  We love how the universe puts what means the most to us around us all the time.

As many of you know, we're really active and on vacation, we usually pack each day with excursion after excursion after excursion.  However, since I have the twins onboard, I wasn't allowed to:
Scuba dive, horseback ride, paddle board, sail, hike waterfalls or even take a river boat tour.  I was allowed to: Eat, Sleep, Shop and Snorkel   Fine.  We really did have such a nice, relaxing time.

We were on a hunt for live reggae music.  Sometime that seemed to elude us the whole time we were there!  Who would've thought!!!

After a few days, we were practically Jamaican.  Yah, Mon!
Or Yes, mon! if you want to be proper about it!

Another friend that didn't fair as well as Roza.
