Gimme s'more!

Marla, Brian, Jake, Aidan and Ethan came over today and we all played in the pool and bbq'd. We finished out the day with a bonfire and s'mores. Jake and Aidan are Scott's identical 9 year old twin nephews.  They've promised to give our babies "twin lessons" when they are born.  Can't wait for them to get are here to share in these moments!

16 weeks!!

We've spent the last week of this summer at our house in East Hampton. We really love it out here.  We've had a great time relaxing and hanging out at the pool and beach.  And we've also gotten a head start on preparing for the babies' arrivals.  Our current plan is to move out the house full time next summer to make it a little easier on me with the dogs and babies.  Imagine what walking 2 dogs with 2 babies would be like otherwise?

15 weeks

I keep wondering if I'm feeling the babies move. I feel little bursts and pops but then I think maybe it's just digestion. Really looking to when I feel real distinctive movements.

It's been really fun to tell our friends and family our happy happy news!  Tonight we went to our favorite restaurant, Bistango, run by our good friend Anthony, with our other great friends Sal and Liz. Anthony was the sweetest and gave me the tightest, longest best hug! (thank god the boobie tenderness has subsided otherwise I could've been seeing starts!).  He offered to make me what the babies wanted. They were craving steak :)  Liz and Sal are role models in life!  They've known each other since they were wee little kids and now have 4 amazing hardworking children of their own.  When they talk kids, we listen (and take lots of notes).

14 weeks!!!

The bump is out but if you didn't know me before this blessed miracle (Hello, New York!!) I just look chubby. If I catch someone staring at me, I rub my belly and arch my back in pain. That's the universal sign of pregnancy.

I've officially delved deep into the world of twins, researching everything from prenatal development, optimal nutrition during pregnancy and surviving the first year with twins.  Some of my favorite resources include:

it's a community of parents of multiples.  There are great articles, charts and boards.  I've learn so much from all the folks on this site who are so opening and willing to share their hope and experience

This chick has some seriously funny posts on her pregnancy calendar page, Zero-to-Forty.  I really enjoy her humor

My Pregnancy HD app
I love this app because it actually mentions some information specific to woman carrying multiple babies.  It's the only one I've found that does.  Makes me think that Baby Zone NYC needs to develop something to meet this need ;)

What to Do When You're Having Two, by Natalie Diaz
The Creator of Twiniversity wrote a great book about surviving pregnancy with twins and an informational practical guide to surviving your first year

I may be biased since I've known and loved the doctors at this practice since I began nursing at Mount Sinai's Labor and Delivery Unit but these guys are the best!  I've been their exclusive childbirth educator since 2011 and I'm now happy to call myself their patient :)

The bump making its debut at 13.5 weeks. It went on exhibit at The Metropolitian Museum of Art with my good friend Michelle.
